Workshop 01: BRICS Workshop on Biophotonics V - 2026

Description
BRICS Workshop on Biophotonics V will be held in Wuhan, China and aimed to bring together scientists, engineers, and clinical researchers from BRICS and candidate countries working in various fields of science related to the application of optics, photonics, and imaging technologies in solving urgent problems in biology and medicine. The forum's scope ranges from basic research to instrument development, preclinical research, and clinical trials, mainly in areas where BRICS researchers are world leaders. We also accept some online presentations due to visa issues.

Workshop 03: China-UK Advanced Photonics Technology Symposium
Organizers
Xuewen SHU (Huazhong University of Science and Technology)
Sergei Turitsyn (Aston University, UK)
Description
The China-UK Advanced Photonics Technology Symposium is an academic forum dedicated to fostering collaborative research, academic exchange, and technological innovation between China and the United Kingdom in the field of advanced photonics. Bringing together leading researchers, faculty members, postdocs, and graduate students from top universities and research institutions across both countries, the symposium focuses on frontier topics including photonic devices, optical communications, nonlinear photonics, fiber lasers, optical sensing, integrated photonics, intelligent photonics technologies, and photonics applications in biomedicine, the food industry and agri-tech.
Through invited talks, oral presentations, and academic discussions, the event aims to share cutting-edge progress, promote cross-border cooperation, and inspire new ideas for fundamental research and industrial applications. By strengthening bilateral academic ties and building a sustainable communication platform, the symposium seeks to accelerate the development of next-generation photonic technologies and expand their impact in communications, biomedicine, precision sensing, and advanced manufacturing.

Workshop 04: Electronic-Photonic-Interconnects for Al(面向AI的光电融合互联)
Organizers
Min TAN (Huazhong University of Science and Technology)
Description
With the rapid evolution of artificial-intelligence (Al) technologies, the demand for high-bandwidth, low-latency, and high-energy efficiency in data transmission has surged dramatically. As a key enabling technology, electronic-photonic interconnects have become the core backbone to address the bottlenecks of traditional electrical interconnects in Al scenarios, attracting enormous attention from both the industry and academia.
Despite their great potential, the development and practical application of electronic photonic interconnects for Al still face significant technical challenges. These challenges include: lasers, advanced packaging technologies, optical coupling methods, mass production yield, long-term operational stability, thermal management issues and etc. These factors collectively restrict the large-scale commercialization and widespread application of this technology.
This workshop focuses on the full-chain technology system of electronic-photonic interconnects for AI, covering all key links and core technologies in the field. The workshop aims to gather industry and academic experts and researchers to exchange cutting-edge progress, jointly tackle technical difficulties, and promote the innovation and industrialization of electronic-photonic-interconnect-technologies for Al.
Remark: 15 minutes is allowed for each talk.
